The camera in the pictures is Plaubel Makina 1, the first version of a line of fine German cameras of which the last Makina 3 is represented also in this site. Just like I wrote about the Makina 3, this one is also excellent to use. It is only missing a few ergonomical features which were introduced in later models.  Here is a link to more information about the Makina line of cameras. The basic idea is the same in all of them. The shutter mechanism is in the front lens panel, focusing is done by moving scissors strut mechanism and the rear panel holds a viewfinder, later a rangefinder and the rollfilm or plate holder. There was also a host of accessories and later alternative lenses for this camera as it was from the beginning aimed at professional market. I wish some would still make new ones.
